Pengertian noun clause
Noun clause adalah klausa yang berfungsi sebagai nomina. Karena fungsinya sebagai nomina, maka noun clause dapat menduduki posisi-posisi berikut:

  • Subjek kalimat (subject of a sentence)
  • Objek verba transitif (object of a transitive verb)
  • Objek preposisi (object of a preposition)
  • Pelengkap (complement)
  • Pemberi keterangan tambahan (noun in apposition)


    Rumus :
    S + V + O atau V + S
    Contoh :
    I know his address

    1.      Where does he lives ? I don’t know where he lives.
    2.      Who is in the office ? I don’t know who is in the office
    3.      When did the leave ? Do you know when they left ?
    4.      What did she say ? Please tell me what she said.
    5.      Why is Tom absent ? I wonder why Tom is absent.
    6.      I know where she lives.
    7.      I don’t know if he is married.
    8.      I know that the world is round.
    9.      Whose pen is on the desk ?I don’t know whose pen is on the office.
    10.  Is Eric at home ? I don’t know if Eric is at home.
    11.  Does the bus stop here ? Do you know if the bus stops here ?
    12.  Did Alice go to Chicago ? I wonder if Alice went to Chicago.
    13.  Did Steve go to the bank ? If (wheter) Steve Went to the bank.
    14.  Where did Carlos go ? I don’t know where Carlos went.
